Soledum

Soledum is available in packs containing 20 gastro-resistant soft capsules. This pharmaceutical form ensures the release of the active substance in the intestine, protecting the cineole from premature degradation in the stomach.

Soledum Forte is indicated as an expectorant in:

• Treatment of productive cough associated with acute bronchopulmonary diseases such as acute bronchitis
• Management of symptoms in chronic bronchopulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

With its anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties, cineole helps to thin mucus and facilitate its elimination.

For adults and adolescents over 12 years, the usual dose is 1 capsule 3 times a day. In severe cases, the dose may be increased to 1 capsule 4 times a day.

The capsules should be taken with a sufficient amount of water, preferably after meals, to reduce the risk of gastric discomfort.

Soledum Forte can also be used by diabetic patients as it does not contain sugar.

Do not use Soledum Forte in the following cases:

• Hypersensitivity to cineole or any of the components of the drug
• Children under 12 years due to lack of safety data.

If you suffer from severe chronic diseases, it is recommended to discuss with your doctor before taking any dietary supplement.

Data related to the use of Soledum during pregnancy are limited. Animal studies indicate crossing of the placenta but have not shown malformations.

Due to its lipophilic properties, cineole may pass into breast milk, which may affect its taste or cause discomfort to the infant.

Important! Soledum Forte should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if the benefits outweigh the potential risks and only on the advice of a doctor.

Soledum Forte is unlikely to affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Like any medicine, Soledum Forte can cause side effects, although not all people experience them. The most common side effects include:

• Gastrointestinal upset: nausea, stomach discomfort.
• Allergic reactions: rash, itching.

If severe side effects occur, such as shortness of breath or swelling of the face, stop taking and consult a doctor.

Cineole may interact with drugs that are metabolized by the hepatic enzyme system which may influence their plasma concentration.

Food consumption does not influence the efficacy of Soledum Forte. However, the combination of Soledum Forte with alcohol is not recommended. Although there are no direct interactions between cineole and alcohol, alcohol consumption may intensify gastrointestinal side effects or reduce the efficacy of the treatment, especially in bronchopulmonary disorders.

Symptoms of overdose may include central nervous system or respiratory disorders.

Treatment consists of stopping administration and symptomatic measures. It is essential to consult a doctor in case of overdose.

Soledum should be stored at temperatures below 25°C, in the original packaging, in a dry place away from direct light.

Keep out of the reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion. Observe the shelf life indicated on the packaging.
