Ibutop gel 50 mg/g, 100 g, Dolorgiet
Indications:
Ibutop Gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for joint and muscle pain.
Ibutop Gel is indicated in the local symptomatic or adjuvant treatment of:
- dislocations, sprains, ligament strains or limb contusions caused by direct trauma (for example, sports accidents);
- muscle pains of rheumatic origin;
- painful degenerative joint diseases (arthrosis), inflammatory rheumatic diseases of the joints and the spine, swelling or inflammation of the soft tissues in the joint area (for example in the case of bursitis, tendinitis, inflammation of tendon membranes, ligaments and joints), ankylosis of the shoulder, pain of back, lumbago.
Ingredients:
The active substance is ibuprofen. 100 g of Ibutop Gel contain 5 g of ibuprofen.
Administration method:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed, the usual dose is:
Ibutop Gel is applied 3-4 times a day. Depending on the size of the affected painful area, it is necessary to apply a 4-10 cm long gel strip on the skin, which corresponds to an amount of 2-5 g gel (100-250 mg ibuprofen). The maximum daily dose can reach up to 20 g of gel (corresponding to 1000 mg of ibuprofen).
Children and adolescents:
Ibutop Gel should not be administered to children and adolescents under the age of 14 because the data available in this age group are not sufficient.
Contraindications:
Do not use Ibutop Gel:
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen, to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or to any of the others
components of this medicine (listed in point 6).
- on open wounds, skin inflammations or infections or in the case of mucous membrane inflammation or eczema;
- under occlusive dressings;
- in the last three months of pregnancy;
- in children and adolescents under the age of 14.
Precautions:
Patients suffering from bronchial asthma, hay fever, inflammation of the nasal mucosa (adenoid growths) or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (especially those associated with hay fever symptoms) and patients with hypersensitivity to all types of analgesics and antirheumatic drugs are at greater risk. higher risk of asthma attacks (intolerance to analgesics/analgesic asthma), inflammation of the skin's mucous membranes (Quincke's edema) or urticaria than the other patients.
Ibutop Gel should be administered to these patients only under strict observation, with certain precautions and under direct medical control. The same measures apply to patients with hypersensitivity (allergy) to other substances and who show skin reactions, itching or hives.
Contact with the eyes, lips and genital area should be avoided. It will not be applied to mucous membranes.
Make sure that the skin areas that have been applied with Ibutop Gel are not touched by children.
If the discomfort lasts more than 3 days, consult the doctor.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Task:
Ask your doctor if you become pregnant while using Ibutop Gel. Do not use ibuprofen in the first and second trimester of pregnancy without contacting your doctor. Ibutop Gel is contraindicated in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Breastfeeding:
Ibuprofen and its metabolites are excreted in human milk, but at therapeutic doses of Ibutop Gel no negative effects on newborns or breastfed infants are anticipated.
Ibutop Gel can be used during breastfeeding in case of short-term treatment.
However, a daily dose of 15 mg gel should not be exceeded and in the case of long-term treatment, discontinuation of breastfeeding should be considered.
To avoid contact of the infant with Ibutop Gel, this medicine should not be applied to the breast during breastfeeding.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Ibutop Gel does not influence the ability to drive vehicles or use machines.
