Mucosolvan® junior is used for acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system.

These are, for example:

• acute and repeated inflammations of the bronchi, larynx and trachea,
• chronic diseases such as chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Patients with an acute disease of the respiratory system can take the drug without consulting a doctor. Patients suffering from chronic diseases of the respiratory system can use the drug only for a long time after consulting a doctor.

At first, acute diseases are usually accompanied by a dry, irritating cough, or even a burning sensation in the chest with bronchitis and hoarseness with laryngitis. Next, there is the formation of viscous mucus and gradual expectoration. In chronic conditions, there can be both types of cough - a dry irritating cough and a wet type of cough with expectoration of mucus.

The active ingredient of Mucosolvan junior, Ambroxol hydrochloride, increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, the formation of pulmonary surfactant (substance that covers the inner walls of the alveoli) and stimulates the activity of cilia ensuring the transport of mucus. These effects result in more abundant liquefaction, better transport and excretion of mucus (mucociliary clearance), which facilitates expectoration and relieves cough.

Dosage:

• Up to 2 years: 2.5 ml twice a day.
• 2-5 years: 2.5 ml 3 times a day.
• 6-12 years: 5 ml 2-3 times a day.
• Over 12 years: 10 ml 3 times a day.
