Jiaogulan Veggie Capsules contain Jiaogulan powder and Jiaogulan extract. The capsules are based on Jiaogulan (Gynostemma pentaphyllum) from Shaanxi Province in China, specifically from the remote mountains of Pingli County. The plant contains constituents such as saponins, flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids, and gypenosides. Eighty-two different plant glycosides, including saponins, have been identified in the leaves. Proteins and trace elements have also been described in Jiaogulan leaves. The Jiaogulan plant has been the subject of numerous scientific studies.
