Faringosept 10 mg is an antiseptic medicine and belongs to the group of medicines for the oropharyngeal area.

Faringosept 10 mg is used in adults, adolescents and children over 14 years of age as an adjuvant in acute infections with portal of entry or localization at the level of the oral cavity and pharynx: gingivitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and after tonsillectomy (surgical removal of the tonsils).

Indications:

Prophylaxis and treatment of oropharyngeal infections: angina, gingivitis, stomatitis; after tonsillectomy and tooth extractions.

Therapeutic action:

Acute antiseptic against Streptococcus pyogenes, S. pneumoniae, S. viridans and other pathogenic germs of the oral cavity.

Composition:

• The active substance is ambazone monohydrate
• Each lozenge contains 10 mg of ambazone monohydrate.

How to use:

• Adults: each 1 tablet (to be sucked), 4 - 6 times/day
• Children and adolescents aged 14 to 18 years is 1 tablet 3 times a day (30 mg of ambazone), for 3-4 days
• Due to the lack of sufficient information on the safety of administration, Faringosept 10 mg is not recommended for children under 14 years
• Faringosept 10 mg tablets are not swallowed, but are allowed to dissolve slowly in the oral cavity
• Faringosept 10 mg is administered immediately after meals (15-30 minutes)
• It is recommended to avoid consuming food or liquids for 2-3 hours after administration
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• If symptoms persist, contact your doctor immediately.

Side effects:

• Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
• Mild irritation of the oral mucosa (î if administered too frequently)
• Hypersensitivity reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, hives, itching, redness of the face and/or rashes all over the body
• Discoloration of saliva has also been reported when using ambazone.
