Description
Vibrocil nasal drops, solution, 2.5 mg/0.25 mg/ml, 15 ml, Gsk
Vibrocil nasal drops contain a nasal decongestant (phenylephrine) and an antihistamine (dimetinden maleate) as active ingredients.
Vibrocil nasal drops provide rapid and long-lasting relief from nasal congestion and runny nose, symptoms present in a wide variety of infectious or allergic diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
Indications:
- Cough, acute and chronic rhinitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and non-seasonal, acute and chronic sinusitis, pre- and post-operative care
- Adjuvant in acute otitis media
- Vibrocil nasal drops can also be used as an adjuvant treatment in case of otitis media
- Vibrocil nasal drops can be prescribed by the doctor for pre- and post-operative care in case of nasal surgery.
Action:
- Vibrocil cleans the nose while respecting the physiology of the vibrating cilia and the nasal mucosa
- Through its selective action on the alpha 1-adrenergic receptors of the cavernous venous system of the nasal mucosa, phenylephrine exerts a mild vasoconstrictor effect that allows for rapid and lasting decongestion
- Dimetinden maleate, an anti-H1 antihistamine, is an antiallergic substance effective in small doses and well tolerated.
Composition:
Active ingredients: Dimetinden maleate 0.25 mg, phenylephrine 2.5 mg; flavorings; preservatives: benzalkonium chloride; excipients and solution for 1 ml.
How to use:
- After blowing the nose, apply 3-4 times a day in each nostril
- Children under 1 year: not recommended
- Children between 1 and 6 years: 1-2 drops
- Children over 6 years and adults: 3-4 drops
- It is preferable to administer in a sitting position, and after instillation the head is tilted back to promote penetration.
Contraindications:

- Like other vasoconstrictors, phenylephrine is contraindicated in atrophic rhinitis with or without ozena, in patients treated with MAOIs or who have stopped this therapy less than 2 weeks ago.
