Bioflu Sinus, 500 mg/30 mg, 20 film-coated tablets, Biofarm

Bioflu Sinus is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild-to-moderate pain (e.g. headache, sore throat, sinus pain), fever, nasal congestion and nasal hypersecretion.

Composition:

• The active substances are: paracetamol and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride
• Each film-coated tablet contains paracetamol 500 mg and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg
• The other ingredients are: core - microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, Povidone K30, sodium starch glycolate type A, talc, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate; film - Opadry II white 85F18422: partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol/PEG 3350, talc.

How to use:

• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
• The medicine is to be taken orally.

Adults (including the elderly):

• The recommended dose is 2 Bioflu Sinus film-coated tablets up to 3 times a day, as needed, to relieve symptoms
• The minimum interval between doses is 4 hours
• No more than 3 doses should be taken in 24 hours.

Adolescents between 16 and 18 years:

• The recommended dose is 1-2 Bioflu Sinus film-coated tablets up to 3 times a day, as needed to relieve symptoms
• The minimum interval between administrations is 4 hours
• No more than 3 doses will be administered in 24 hours.

Adolescents between 12 and 15 years:

• The recommended dose is one Bioflu Sinus film-coated tablet up to 3 times a day, as needed to relieve symptoms
• The minimum interval between administrations is 4 hours
• No more than 3 doses will be administered in 24 hours.
• Not to be administered to children under 12 years of age.

If you are diagnosed with liver or kidney failure you should seek medical advice before taking Bioflu Sinus.

You should always use the lowest effective dose recommended to relieve your symptoms.

The minimum interval between administrations is 4 hours.

Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days.

Do not exceed the recommended dose or frequency of administration.

Contraindications:

Do not use Bioflu Sinus if you are allergic to paracetamol and pseudoephedrine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Bioflu Sinus.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy:

• Data from the use of paracetamol in pregnant women are limited
• If necessary, Bioflu Sinus can be used during pregnancy
• You should use the lowest possible dose that helps reduce pain and/or fever and for the shortest possible time
• Contact your doctor if pain and/or fever does not decrease or if you need to take the medicine more often.

Breastfeeding:

• In humans, paracetamol is excreted in milk, but at therapeutic doses, no effects on breastfed newborns/infants are expected.

Fertility:

• Toxicity studies in animals have shown toxic effects on reproductive function.

Driving and using machines:

• Bioflu Sinus has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
