Indicated in:

• severe food allergies and intolerances;
• multiple protein intolerances (soy, cow's milk);
• malabsorption,
• malnutrition,
• maldigestion;
• inflammatory bowel disease;
• intractable diarrheal disease;
• post-enterocolitis refeeding.

1. It is a food with a special medical purpose.
2. It is a complete elemental formula recommended in the dietary treatment of children with cow's milk protein allergy and multiple food protein intolerances.
3. It is also recommended for ailments that require an elemental diet.
4. It can be administered as the only nutritional source.
5. It is not used in parenteral nutrition.

Administered:
The recommended concentration is 15% and the osmolarity at this concentration is 360mosm/kg.
A lower concentration is recommended initially, until the patient's tolerance is obtained.
Preparation of Nutricia - Neocate 400g: both the dosage and the preparation of the food are important for the health of the infant. Incorrect preparation can affect the baby's health. Always wash the utensils used for cooking in the kitchen, to avoid protein contamination. One measure of Neocate requires 30ml of water to reach the recommended concentration (15%).

1. Wash your hands well and clean the surface for preparation. Sterilize the bottle and teats;
2. The drinking water is boiled and cooled approx. 30 min so that the wrist feels warm; Pour the necessary water into the baby bottle (according to the dosage table);
3. Fill in the measure provided by Neocate. The excess is removed with the blade of a clean knife;
4. The necessary number of measurements are put in the bottle. Close the bottle. Shake vigorously until the powder dissolves. The temperature of the prepared milk is checked on the wrist (approx. 37 degrees C);
5. After an hour, the rest of the formula left in the bottle is thrown away. The formula is not reheated during the meal.
Important: infant formula powder is not sterile. When possible and especially for infants vulnerable to infections, the formula will be prepared immediately before administration. In enteral nutrition, the amount of ready-made Neocate should not be used for more than 4 hours.
