Description
Unguentum Neomycini is a medicine in the form of an ointment for use on the skin. The active substance of the preparation is neomycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic with a bactericidal effect on staphylococci and Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenza, bacteria of the genus Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Salmonella and Shigella, acid-resistant mycobacteria, including strains resistant to streptomycin from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. At the same time, neomycin has no effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, Streptococcus bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses.
The drug can be used for the local treatment of purulent skin diseases, purulent complications of allergic skin diseases and infections, minor burns and frostbite.
