Troxevasin gel 20 mg, 100 g, Actavis
Chronic venous insufficiency; varicose disease and hemorrhoids; superficial, acute thrombophlebitis and postthrombophlebitic syndrome; postphlebosclerosis pain
Therapeutic action:
Capillary medication (capillarotonic); bioflavonoids.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:

Indications:
Troxevasin, 2% gel, is indicated for local symptomatic treatment in case of: chronic venous insufficiency, varicose disease and hemorrhoids, superficial thrombophlebitis, acute and postthrombophlebitic syndrome, postphlebosclerosis pain.
Ingredients:
100 g of gel contain troxerutin 2 g and excipients: carbomer 940, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, triethanolamine, purified water.
How to use:
- Troxevasin, 2% gel, is only recommended for local application
- The gel is applied in a thin layer on the surfaces affected by varicose veins or hemorrhoids - integuments, intact anal mucosa, 2 times/day, morning and evening, gently massaging until complete absorption
- The effect of treatment with Troxevasin, gel 2% depends on regular application in appropriate doses and over a long period (2-3 weeks).
Overdose:
No cases of overdose have been reported.
Adverse reactions:
In rare cases, allergic skin reactions - urticaria, eczema and dermatitis - may occur.
Interactions:
- No interactions with other drugs or substances were found
- Troxevasin, gel 2%, can be administered alone or simultaneously with Troxevasin, capsules.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to troxerutin or any of the product's excipients.
Precautions:
Hypersensitivity reactions are more common in patients with skin and/or allergic diseases.
Warnings:
- Troxevasin, 2% gel is applied only to intact skin surfaces. It should not be applied to mucous membranes, open wounds or at eye level
- The use of troxerutin in patients with hemorrhoids requires, in advance, a careful proctological diagnosis, in order to exclude conditions that require other therapeutic interventions
- In case of hemorrhoidal crisis, the use of troxerutin does not dispense with the specific treatment for other anal diseases
- Treatment with troxerutin must be of short duration
- If the symptoms do not subside quickly, it is necessary to reconsider the therapeutic attitude
- Pregnancy and lactation: following the administration of Troxevasin to pregnant mice and rats, no embryotoxic and teratogenic effects were evident. However, it is not recommended to use the product in the first trimester of pregnancy
- Also, administration during breastfeeding is not recommended
- Effects on the ability to drive vehicles or use machines: Troxevasin, gel 2% does not influence the ability to drive vehicles or use machines
- Do not use after the expiration date written on the package
- Store at temperatures below 25°C, in the original packaging
- Keep out of reach of children.
