Transparent dressing Tegaderm Film 3M, 6 x 7cm, 1 pc
Properties :
- 3M™ Tegaderm™ film consists of a thin film with a hypoallergenic adhesive, which does not contain latex, which sticks to the skin gently but safely;
- Tegaderm™ dressings allow the skin to breathe, offer very good air permeability and provide a sterile, impermeable barrier for external contamination including liquids, bacteria and viruses;
- in vitro tests have shown that the transparent film provides a viral barrier against viruses with a diameter greater than 27nm;
- the "frame" system facilitates exact positioning, prevents the application of bandages under tension and avoids the occurrence of possible skin trauma;
- the product can be used in many clinical situations: it protects catheters, maintains a moist wound healing environment, protects closed surgical incisions;
- fast, simple use;
- since the central paper window is already removed, the creation of additional residues is avoided;
- the transparent film above the insertion area reduces unnecessary dressing changes and reduces the risk of contamination;
- allows continuous monitoring of the catheter or the wound without disturbing or removing the dressing;
- the adhesive is not latex and minimizes the risk of skin irritation;
- available for several types of catheters;
- for the safe fixation of the catheter, for checking, permanent observation of the insertion area;
- it can be worn for a longer period of time on the skin compared to adhesive tapes and classic compresses;
- allows the skin to breathe and is permeable from the skin to the outside;
- it is impermeable to water, allowing patients to shower or swim if the dressing is completely sealed around the catheter or the wound;
- it is radiologically transparent, it is not necessary to remove the dressing before radiography;
- it can be used in many clinical situations: it protects catheters, maintains a moist wound healing environment, protects closed surgical incisions;

Important:
Store the Tegaderm™ dressing at room temperature.
Tegaderm™ is packaged in sterile pouches.
The dressing is sterile only if the packaging is intact.
Check the expiration date on each individual package.
Way of ussage:
Prepare the skin/wound for catheter insertion or dressing application according to standard hospital protocol. To ensure a good adhesion of the dressing, it is necessary to remove excess hair from the treated area with the help of a clipper. It is not recommended to shave the hair. Apply on a clean and dry area. For best results, the dressing should be large enough so that the edges adhere to the healthy, dry skin around the wound. Allow the disinfectant to dry completely before applying the dressing.
Application:
1. Open the package and remove the sterile dressing.
2. Unfold the backing paper from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface.
3. Position the dressing on the wound area or in the catheter insertion area and apply the dressing.
4. To avoid skin tension, bend the joints before application.
5. Smooth the edges of the dressing with firm movements.
6. Carefully seal around the catheter or wound.
7. Smooth the adhesive edges of the dressing with firm movements.
8. Check the tension applied to the dressing regularly, especially if there is a risk of the wound swelling.
9. Change the dressing if the wound exudate penetrates the lining.
10. To remove the dressing, carefully grasp the edges and gently pull the dressing off the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Warning :
1. The dressing is not intended to replace surgical sutures or other wound closure procedures.
2. The dressing should be changed if it is soaked with wound exudate or if it is not intact.
3. An intact dressing is properly applied to obtain and maintain good adhesion, at least around the edge of the dressing.
4. For best results, the dressing should be large enough that the edge adheres to the healthy, dry skin surrounding the wound.
5. The wound should be monitored frequently to prevent infection.
6. If infection is noted (which may be indicated by fever, pain, redness, swelling, an unusual odor, or discharge), remove the dressing and take standard precautions.
Precautions :
1. Hemostasis of the wound must be done before applying the dressing.
2. The skin must be dry and free of detergent residues to ensure good adhesion.
3. Mechanical trauma to the skin may occur if tension is applied.
