Indications:
- Active substance: Volatile oil of Lavandula latifolia. Tavipec is a drug with a secretolytic, expectorant action. Adjuvant in the treatment of rhinitis, acute or chronic rhinosinusitis and acute or chronic bronchitis.
- Tavipec is a product that belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of herbal medicines for the respiratory system.
- Tavipec contains 150 mg of aetheroleum spicae (volatile oil of Lavandula latifolia) and is packaged in gastro-resistant soft capsules. The main constituents of aetheroleum spicae are 1.8 Cineole, linalool and camphor. Cineol (eucalyptol) has the following effects described in the specialized literature: secretolysis, bronchospasmolysis, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, similar to surfactant. Essential oils, for example Tavipec, containing cineole have a secretolytic effect (decrease the viscosity of secretions by stimulating the function of the serous glands of the respiratory tract mucosa) and can improve mucociliary clearance (by harmonizing secretion and increasing the frequency of ciliary beats) and clinical symptoms. Tavipec can be indicated as a secretolytic, adjuvant in the treatment of rhinitis, acute or chronic rhinosinusitis.
Composition:
The active substance is the volatile oil of Lavandula latifolia, 150 mg.
Administration method:
- Always use Tavipec exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Adults and adolescents over 12 years: The recommended dose is 1 or 2 capsules three times a day. They are administered orally, unchewed, about half an hour before meals. There are no adequate studies of administration in children.
- If you use more Tavipec than you should: If adverse reactions occur, contact a specialized medical service. If you forget to use Tavipec: Do not double doses to make up for the missed dose. Continue with your usual dose after your normal schedule. If you stop using Tavipec: There is no direct danger, but it is recommended that you contact your doctor first. For additional information on the method of administration and to establish the duration of the treatment, it is recommended that the patient contact the doctor.
