Description
SwimCount™ is a self-monitoring medical device that allows you to assess sperm quality . A male fertility test allows you to measure PMSC, that is, the number of normal progressive motile sperm . This parameter is considered the best predictor of male fertility and a key factor in assessing the chance of conception.
When should you take the SwimCount™ Male Fertility Test?
The indication for a sperm quality test, understood as sperm count and motility, should be problems conceiving despite trying for more than 12 months. It's also worth taking the test if you're planning to start trying for a baby. SwimCount™ will also be used to assess the effectiveness of contraception in men after vasectomy (vasectomy).
The SwimCount™ test is intended for home use. It measures the concentration of sperm in the ejaculate that can move, understood as sperm motility. Sperm motility is a key factor required for fertilization. SwimCount™ is the world's first professional semen quality test that meets the requirements of in vitro clinics and provides a completely reliable result compared to the result of sperm testing in a laboratory. 100% consistent SwimCount™ test result compared to laboratory semen analysis using the CASA method (the most accurate computer-assisted semen analysis).
The test allows you to get easy-to-read results within 30 minutes of testing. The accuracy of the test is 95%. There are two chambers in the measuring device and only PMSCs can flow from one chamber to the other. After moving to the second chamber, the PMSCs become stained, resulting in the color in the results window. The more PMSCs in the sample, the more intense the blue color.
