What is Stratamed?
Stratamed is a certified medical device manufactured in Switzerland and authorized for the treatment of wounds and early stage prophylaxis of abnormal scarring.
It is the only product based on sterile silicone authorized for direct application on freshly sutured or open wounds, minimizing the risk of developing pathological scars resulting from skin trauma.

Mechanism of action
After drying, Stratamed forms a flexible, air-permeable and water-resistant dressing that protects the wound from bacterial contamination and creates the optimal conditions for faster wound healing. It maintains optimal hydration in the depth of the skin tissue and significantly reduces specific symptoms such as pain, burning sensation and itching, favoring faster re-epithelialization and the formation of a new normal tissue, uniform with the surrounding ones.
Stratamed prevents the abnormal deposition of collagen fibers and reduces inflammation, preventing the formation of pathological hypertrophic and keloid scars.

Indications for use
Stratamed is indicated for the treatment of wounds and prophylaxis of scars that may result from:
- surgical interventions (incisions/excisions);
- burns;
- bites, deep scratches;
- major skin traumas;
- ablative and semi-ablative aesthetic interventions: laser, peeling, dermabrasion.
Recommended duration of treatment: 2-3 months or according to the doctor's instructions.
