Description

The drug reduces the adhesion and viscosity of bronchial mucus, facilitates coughing, relieves breathing difficulties, suppresses the cough reflex and increases resistance to respiratory tract infections. Eases expectoration. The drug is intended for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract accompanied by cough and expectoration of thick mucus and to support expectoration after a bronchoscopic examination with a contrast agent.

Dosage and dosage regimens

Adults and adolescents from 14 years: 2 measuring spoons 3 times a day for long-term treatment (more than 10 days) Use 1 measuring spoon 3 times a day. Children: Age 6 to 14 years: 1 measuring spoon (5 ml) 2-3 times a day Age 3 to 5 years: half a measuring spoon (2.5 ml) 3 times a day Age 1 to 2 years: half a scoop (2.5 ml) twice a day

Mode of use

The medicine is for oral use. A measuring spoon must be used to dose the syrup. One measuring spoon contains 5 ml of syrup. The syrup should be taken after a meal. It is recommended to drink more fluids during treatment.

Warning

The drug is not recommended for use in the first trimester of pregnancy. The use of the drug is not recommended for nursing mothers. Caution is advised in patients with histamine intolerance. The medicine contains sorbitol and ethanol. Additional special warnings are given in the SmPC (section 4.4).

Composition

The active ingredient is ambroxol chloride. One tablet contains 30 mg of ambroxol chloride, which corresponds to 27.36 mg of ambroxol. One ml of syrup contains 3 mg of ambroxol chloride, which corresponds to 2.74 mg of ambroxol. 5 ml of syrup (1 measuring spoon) contains 15 mg of ambroxol chloride, which corresponds to 13.68 mg of ambroxol. - Tablets: Other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose (E460), corn starch, povidone and magnesium stearate (E470b). - See point 2 "Solvolan tablets contain lactose". - Syrup: Other ingredients are sorbitol (E420), sodium benzoate (E211), glycerol (E422), sodium cyclamate, citric acid monohydrate, raspberry flavor (ethanol), purified water. - See section 2 "Solvolan syrup contains sorbitol, ethanol, sodium benzoate and sodium"
