Ganoderma lucidum , also known as reishi or black mushroom, is a species of mushroom with a long tradition in oriental medicine, where it is believed to have almost magical properties. In Japan, this mushroom is known as reishi, while in China the term lingzhi is used, which refers to its supposed spiritual and medicinal properties. Recognized in Asian culture as a remedy that can remedy many health problems, reishi has the status of an almost divine elixir of health in Asia.
