Description
Prospan is a herbal medicine in syrup form containing ivy leaf extract (Hederae helicis folii extractum siccum). The preparation is used as an expectorant in the so-called wet cough (productive cough) in children and adults to liquefy retained secretions (secretory effect), reduce spasm of bronchial smooth muscles (spasmolytic effect) and relieve cough.
The main active ingredients of dry ivy leaf extract are triterpene saponins of a glycoside nature (α-hederin, hederagenin and hederacoside C). Thanks to its secretolytic and spasmolytic properties, the syrup helps to remove residual mucus from the respiratory tract, facilitating expectoration and thus relieves coughing, which can be a persistent physical effort that burdens the whole body.
Prospoan syrup does not contain sugar or alcohol, so it is suitable for use in children and adults, including people with diabetes. The package includes a measuring cup that allows you to accurately measure the recommended doses, and the bottle is equipped with a special tip to facilitate dosing of the syrup.
