Description
Paracetamol Infant 160 mg, 20 tablets, Pharmacist Man
Read the leaflet carefully and completely before you start using this medicine, because it contains important information for you.
Always use this medicine as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Indications:
- Paracetamol Infant contains paracetamol, which belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics (pain relievers). Paracetamol Infant is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and
- to reduce fever.
- Paracetamol Infant can be used to relieve headache, toothache, menstrual pain, muscle pain and fever associated with colds.
Composition:
- The active substance is paracetamol. Each tablet contains paracetamol 160 mg.
- The other components are: corn starch, lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, povidone K 30, talc, magnesium stearate.
Administration method:
- Always take Paracetamol Infant exactly as recommended below. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Do not exceed the stated dose. Doses higher than recommended can lead to the risk of very serious liver damage.
- Paracetamol Infant 160 mg is intended for use by children aged between 6 and 12 years.
- In children, the doses should be established in relation to the weight and appropriate pharmaceutical forms will be used.
- The age/weight relationship information detailed below is for guidance only. Regular administration reduces fluctuations in the intensity of pain or fever. In children, administration must be regular, including the night period, preferably at 6-hour intervals, or at intervals of at least 4 hours.
- In children under 12 years old, it is recommended not to administer more than 4 doses in a 24-hour period.
- The doses must be adjusted according to the severity of the pain and the therapeutic response of the patient.
- Children between 6 and 9 years (20-30 Kg): the recommended dose is 160 mg paracetamol every 4-6 hours, as much as needed, as long as the symptoms persist, without administering more than 4 doses in 24 hours;
- Children between 9 and 11 years (31-33 Kg): the recommended dose is 320 mg of paracetamol every 4-6 hours, as much as needed, as long as the symptoms persist, without administering more than 4 doses in 24 hours;
- Children between 11 and 12 years (34-40 kg): the recommended dose is 480 mg of paracetamol every 4-6 hours, as much as needed, as long as the symptoms persist, without administering more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
- The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded, due to the risk of serious liver damage (see "If you take more Paracetamol Infant than you should" and point 4).
- For oral administration.
- The tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water (about 200 ml, if possible).
- If high fever or signs of infection persist after more than 3 days of treatment, or if pain persists after more than 5 days of treatment, you should contact your doctor.
