Step 1: Weeks 1-6 Use Nicorette ^® spray as soon as you feel the urge to smoke. First, inject the spray once, and if the urge to smoke does not disappear within a few minutes, inject a second dose. We usually recommend applying 1-2 doses every 30 minutes to 1 hour. During step 1, try to note how many doses you apply per day on average. The first week of quitting is usually the hardest, but if you persevere, you are 9 times more likely to quit smoking for good. ³ Step 2: Weeks 7-9 During weeks 7-9, start reducing the number of doses (injections) per day. By the end of the 9th week, it is advisable to take only half the number of doses per day compared to the first step.
