As an active cosmetic ingredient, lactic acid favors the renewal of skin cells, exfoliates, improves the texture and appearance of the skin, gives shine to the hair. Adjusts the pH of compositions that need a higher acidity.
Lactic acid is a product of natural origin, obtained by fermentation of glucose. It is used in cosmetic compositions to adjust the pH and has a good affinity for skin and hair. It improves skin hydration, removes dead cells and capillary films (dandruff) with a keratolytic action, gives hair shine.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) exfoliate the corneous layer of the epidermis, remove dead cells and prevent their adhesion to the skin, prevent pore blocking. They allow the skin to regenerate, stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, thus contributing to the smoothing of the skin, the fading of wrinkles and pigment spots.

Characteristics:
Clear colorless liquid, characteristic acidic smell.
Density 1.15.

Properties:
- keratolytic, exfoliates the skin by removing dead cells from the surface of the skin and scalp;
- stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, favoring cell renewal;
- improves the texture and appearance of the skin;
- gives shine to the hair;
- regulates the acidity of cosmetic compositions, reducing their pH;
- activates the conditioning emulsifier used for the preparation of hair care compositions.

Way of ussage:
- lactic acid is a product that is not applied purely on the skin;
- it can be included as an acidifying ingredient in cosmetic compositions that also contain water: serums, gels, toners, masks, lotions, creams, shampoos, cleansers, etc.;
- to adjust the acidity of a cosmetic composition prepared at home, add progressively, drop by drop, measuring the pH obtained and continue adding until the desired value is obtained;
- as an ingredient in exfoliating or depigmenting compositions, with pH measurement - a pH of approx. 3.5 for the exfoliating effect to be achieved; it is recommended to carry out a tolerance test before using a chemical exfoliation preparation;
- it can be combined with other alpha hydroxy acids: glycolic, tartaric, kojic or with the fruit acids from our offer.
