The high concentration of sugars in honey (almost 80% w/v) limits bacterial colonization through an osmotic effect, strengthening the protective barrier created by the high viscosity of honey. In combination with an occlusive dressing, it creates a moist environment, conducive to tissue repair and good wound healing. It prevents dressings from sticking to the wound and facilitates their replacement without trauma. Furthermore, it reduces unpleasant odors.

INDICATIONS: Melicare® Healing Gel is intended for the treatment of surgical wounds and daily wounds such as:

• Nipple fractures caused by breastfeeding.
• Perineal wounds (episiotomies and lacerations).
• Cesarean section sutures.
