Oral solution Loperamide 1mg/5ml, 50ml, Laropharm
Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution contains loperamide hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of drugs that, in diarrhea, reduce the hyperactivity of intestinal motility and help the body absorb more water and electrolytes from the intestine.
Composition:
The active substance is loperamide hydrochloride. 5 ml of solution contain 1 mg of loperamide hydrochloride. The other components are glycerol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, sodium saccharin, orange flavor, purified water.
Method of consumption:
For oral administration: one measuring spoon = 5 ml oral solution = 1 mg loperamide hydrochloride.
Acute diarrhea:
Adults
- An initial dose of 4 mg Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution (4 measuring spoons of 5 ml), followed by repeated doses of 2 mg (2 measuring spoons of 5 ml), after each diarrheal stool.
- Do not exceed the total daily dose of 8 mg, unless it has been so indicated by your doctor.
- Doses higher than 8 mg (8 measuring spoons of 5 ml), up to a maximum of 16 mg (16 measuring spoons of 5 ml) can only be administered with the doctor's recommendation.
Children aged 9 and over
- A dose of 2 mg Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution (2 measuring spoons of 5 ml), 4 times a day, until the diarrheal stools are relieved.
Children aged between 4-8 years
- A dose of 1 mg of Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution (1 measuring spoon of 5 ml), 3 - 4 times a day, until the diarrheal stools are relieved.
- If the diarrhea worsens or if you have used Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution for 2 days without the symptoms improving, contact your doctor. It is necessary for the doctor to consult you to determine the cause of the diarrhea and the most suitable treatment for you.
Chronic diarrhea:
Adults
- Your doctor will recommend the dose that suits you best. This will depend on the severity of your condition;
- In general, doses between 4-8 mg of Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution (4-8 measuring spoons of 5 ml) are recommended, administered in 1-3 doses throughout the day, without exceeding the daily dose of 16 mg Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution (16 measuring spoons of 5 ml).
BOYS
- Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution is not recommended to be administered to children with chronic diarrhea
Precautions:
Before using Loperamide Laropharm 1 mg/5 ml oral solution, contact your doctor or pharmacist if:
- Suffer from acute dysentery whose symptoms include bloody stools and high fever;
- Suffer from liver diseases
Warnings:
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, fertility
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking this medicine.
- It is not recommended to use this medicine during breastfeeding because loperamide can pass in small amounts into breast milk. Ask your doctor for instructions.
Driving vehicles and using machines
- This medicine can sometimes cause adverse reactions, such as slight and transient drowsiness or vertigo, potentially affecting the ability to drive vehicles and use machines.
