Description
Lipancrea 8000 in capsule form is a medicine that contains a mixture of digestive enzymes called "pancreatin". Pancreatin supports the digestion of food. The drug contains small granules that release pancreatin into the intestine.
Lipancrea 8000 is intended for use in children, adolescents and adults suffering from digestive disorders resulting from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, a disease during which the pancreas does not produce the adequate amount of enzymes needed to digest food. This disease often occurs in people with the following diseases:
- blockage of the ducts leading from the pancreas or gall bladder,
- an attack of acute pancreatitis. You can start taking Lipancrea 8000 when you start taking food by mouth again,
- chronic pancreatitis,
- pancreatic cancer,
- gastrointestinal anastomosis,
- Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (a very rare genetic disease),
- cystic fibrosis (a rare genetic disease),
- pancreas removed or part of it,
- stomach removed or part of it.
