Larofen Forte, 400 mg, 10 film-coated tablets, Laropharm
Indications:
Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets contain ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs work by reducing pain, fever and inflammation.
Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets is used for the treatment of rheumatic conditions such as arthritis (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis), non-rheumatic joint conditions (e.g. osteoarthritis) or other muscle and joint conditions, as well as soft tissue injuries .
Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets is recommended for adults and adolescents with body weight over 40 kg (over 12 years).
In addition, Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headache (including migraine), back pain and muscle and joint pain, toothache, menstrual pain and the acute pain and fever associated with the common cold.
Contraindications:
Do not take Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets:
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other components of this medicine.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
Task:
Do not take Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets in the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may cause serious heart, lung and kidney disorders in the unborn child.
If used in late pregnancy, it can cause bleeding tendencies in both mother and baby and weaken the force of uterine contractions, which delays the onset of labor.
You can only take ibuprofen during the first 6 months of pregnancy and only after talking to your doctor and only when absolutely necessary.
Breastfeeding :
Ibuprofen passes into breast milk, but is unlikely to have an effect on a nursing baby when used for short-term treatment. However, if longer treatment is prescribed, early weaning should be considered.
Fertility:
Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets can reduce your chances of getting pregnant. You must tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or if you have problems becoming pregnant.
The drug belongs to a group of drugs (NSAIDs) that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible when the drug is stopped.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Ibuprofen generally has no adverse effects on the ability to drive or use machines. However, at high doses, side effects such as fatigue and dizziness may occur, and the ability to drive or use machines may be impaired. This effect is potentiated by the simultaneous consumption of ethyl alcohol.

How to take Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets:
Swallow the tablet with the contents of a glass of water. You must not crush, chew or dissolve the tablet in your mouth to avoid stomach or throat irritation. If you have stomach sensitivity, it is recommended to take this medicine with food.
How much Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets to take:
You should use the lowest dose necessary to relieve symptoms and for the shortest period of time. If you have an infection, see a doctor right away if symptoms (such as fever and pain) do not go away or get worse. In the long-term treatment of rheumatic conditions, the goal should be a low maintenance dose.
The dose of ibuprofen in adolescents depends on the patient's age and body weight.
The maximum single dose should not exceed 800 mg of ibuprofen for adults and 600 mg of ibuprofen for adolescents.
Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets should not be used in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg or in children under 12 years of age.
Doses higher than recommended can pose serious risks. Do not use different types of painkillers at the same time without a doctor's recommendation.

Maximum daily dose: 2400 mg
The dose should be taken as follows:
One 400 mg tablet 3 times a day. The interval between 2 successive doses must be at least 4-6 hours. Your doctor may prescribe lower doses. Due to the nature and severity of your condition, the doctor may increase your dose to 2 tablets of Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets 3 times a day.
Adolescents weighing over 40 kg (aged over 12 years):
The daily dose is 20 mg/kg body weight, up to a maximum of 40 mg/kg body weight, divided into 3 - 4 doses of one 400 mg tablet each. The maximum daily dose is 2400 mg.
Mild to moderate pain and acute pain and fever
Adults and adolescents weighing over 40 kg (over 12 years of age):
Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg.
The dose should be administered as follows:
One tablet taken as a single dose or up to 3 times a day when needed. The interval between two successive doses must be at least 4-6 hours.
Migraine:
Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg.
The dose should be administered as follows:
One 400 mg tablet taken as needed, 1 to 3 times a day. The interval between two successive doses must be at least 4-6 hours.
Taking a single dose greater than 400 mg does not produce better pain relief.
Menstrual pain:
Adults and adolescents weighing over 40 kg (over 12 years of age):
Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg.
The dose should be administered as follows:
One tablet of Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets at the first signs of menstrual problems, 1 to 3 times a day. The interval between two successive doses must be at least 4-6 hours.
Seniors:
If you are elderly, you should always talk to your doctor before using Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets. If you are elderly, you are more prone to adverse reactions, especially hemorrhage and perforation in the digestive tract, which can be fatal. Your doctor will advise you accordingly.
Liver or kidney failure:
If you have reduced liver or kidney function, you should always seek the advice of a doctor before using Larofen Forte 400 mg film-coated tablets.
