Effects and benefits:
Lactoferrin is the most active glycoprotein in colostrum (the first form of breast milk) and whey, which binds iron (like transferrin and ferritin) and neutralizes it, thus eliminating its toxicity. Iron, in its ionic form, in too much quantity, is toxic to the body because it favors the development of pathogens, tumor cells and arthritis. Lactoferrin is present in the highest concentration in the oral cavity, but it is also found in salivary, lacrimal, bronchial, nasal, biliary, pancreatic, vaginal, cervical secretions, in those on the surface of the mucous membranes and in the blood.
