Green Tea – EGCG Extract is a food supplement with standardized extract from green tea leaves. The product is standardized to 98% polyphenols, each capsule containing 200 mg of EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate). Green tea contains about 4000 bioactive compounds, the most important of which are polyphenols (catechins and their derivatives). Among these catechins, the most studied is epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which is a powerful antioxidant. EGCG contributes to the reduction of inflammation, weight control, prevention of cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.
Green tea is recognized as a very good antiviral and immune protector. The catechins in green tea, especially EGCG, have the ability to attack the membrane of the virus and prevent infection.
