A tree or shrub up to 15 meters tall, belonging to the rose family. It has been cultivated for over 4,000 years and its place of origin is China. It is currently appearing in many countries such as USA, Argentina, Chile and all over Europe. The fruits, called drupes, are spherical in shape, have an orange peel with a slight red tint and weigh from 30 to 80 grams. The oil used in the pharmaceutical and perfume industries is obtained from the seeds of the stone.
