Cosgard (M - 1271), 10 ml, Mayam

• It ensures the efficient preservation of a wide spectrum of cosmetics prepared at home: creams, lotions, toners, gels, hygiene products. It is an economical preservative, easy to use and approved for use in organic cosmetics.
• A composition with a low odor profile that offers broad-spectrum protection for a diverse range of cosmetics, against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and molds. Ensures the preservation of cosmetic compositions prepared at home for 1-3 months.
• It is of synthetic origin but is one of the few preservatives approved for organic/bio cosmetics.
• Origin: synthetic, meets the certification standards of organic cosmetics

• Composition: 77-86% benzyl alcohol, 8-15% salicylic acid, 3-5% glycerin, 1-4% sorbic acid

Appearance: clear liquid of low viscosity, colorless, very light smell that is not felt in the preparations

The properties of the cosgard

• it is a non-paraben, non-formaldehyde, non-isothiazolone type compound
• broad spectrum antibacterial
• broad spectrum antifungal
• inhibits the development of bacteria and molds
• soluble in water up to 1.2%
• soluble in glycerin and oils
• wide pH compatibility, between 3 - 8
• meets the standards for organic cosmetics
• does not negatively affect the smell of the preparations
• also suitable for "fragrance-free" compositions

Use, indications, recommendations

• typical dosage: 0.6 to 1% of the weight of the final composition, added at the end of the preparation process
• usual dosage recommended for cosmetics prepared at home 0.6, and for preparations sensitive to microbial development 0.8%
• suitable for most cosmetic products
• creams, lotions and gels for skin, body and hair
• cleansers, shower gels, makeup removers
• hygiene and hair care products
• products for oral hygiene
• it is recommended to keep preserved preparations in the ambient environment but below 25°C, away from light and moisture

Compatibility

• good with the cosmetic ingredients from the Elemental offer
• good with all emulsifiers from the Elemental offer, co-emulsifiers, guar gum, acacia gum, xanthan gum

Examples of dosage in compositions

• 2 drops of preservative for every 10 gr of finished product, for preservation between 1-3 months
• for 50 gr of product 0.6% means 10 drops
• for 100 gr of product 0.6% means 20 drops

Storage: in a dry place away from light, at room temperature, in a sealed container

Safety data:

• avoid contact with the eyes, do not ingest, do not apply purely on the skin
• follow the recommended dosage, do not exceed 1.15%
• not to be used in preparations for children under 3 years old, with the exception of rinse-off products (shampoo, bath gel)
• for people prone to allergies or irritation, a tolerance test on the wrist of the arm is recommended beforehand (test with the finished product or with the preservative diluted to 1% in water) waiting at least 24 hours for possible reactions
• Keep out of reach of children
