Contractubex Gel, 2x50 g, Merz
Description
Contractubex is used to treat various types of scars after the lesions have healed.
Contractubex works to stop the proliferation of scar tissue and has a flattening and decontracting effect on this tissue. It also reduces redness, heat, inflammation and pain (anti-inflammatory).
Indications :
Contractubex is indicated for patients with scars that limit movement, hypertrophic scars, keloids (scars that are thickened, raised and sometimes colored differently from the surrounding skin), disfiguring scars after surgery, amputations, burns and accidents; after contractures such as Dupuytrene contracture (contracture of the hand) and traumatic tendon contractures as well as atrophic scars (scars that form depressions or wrinkles in the skin).
Composition:
The active substances are: heparin sodium 5000 IU, onion liquid extract 10 g, allantoin 1 g per 100 g gel.
The other ingredients are: sorbic acid, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, xanthan gum, macrogol 200, fragrance composition 231616, purified water.
Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.
Gently massage Contractubex onto the scar tissue area until the gel is completely absorbed.
If the scars are hard and old, Contractubex is left to act overnight under a bandage.
Depending on the size of the scar and the contracture, treatment will be required for several weeks or several months.
When treating recent scars, avoid irritating physical factors, such as strong cold, UV radiation or vigorous massage.
Always use Contractubex as prescribed by your doctor.
You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
If you have the impression that the effect of Contractubex is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
The effect of treatment with Contractubex consists in significantly reducing scars, increasing their elasticity and suppleness, and evening out their color in line with the surrounding skin.
If you have any further questions on this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Contraindications:
Do not use Contractubex if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Cepae Extract, heparin sodium, allantoin, sorbic acid or parabens (methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate) or any of the other ingredients of Contractubex.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
The risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not yet known.
Driving and using machines:
Contractubex has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
