Description
Clafen gel, 10 mg/gram, 40 g, Antibiotice SA
Indications:
Clafen contains the active substance diclofenac, which is part of the class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for local use.
It is used in symptomatic local treatment in adults to reduce pain and inflammation:
- muscular or osteoarticular of rheumatic origin;
- in the case of post-operative and post-traumatic edemas (eg sprains);
- muscular or osteoarticular of a traumatic nature (slight injuries of tendons, muscles, ligaments, etc.).
Contraindications:
Do not use Clafen:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to diclofenac sodium, to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or to any of the other components of the medicine.
Precautions:
Before using Clafen, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
During the first 5 months of pregnancy, you can use Clafen only on the doctor's recommendation, if absolutely necessary. Starting from the 6th month, do not use Clafen.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Clafen has no influence on the ability to drive vehicles and use machines.
Important information regarding some components of Clafen
This medicine contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation.
Administration method:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Clafen is intended for administration on the skin.
Grown ups . Clafen is administered 3-4 times a day to the affected area. The dose administered to each
application varies depending on the surface of the affected area, being approximately 2 - 4 g of gel
(corresponding to about 5 - 10 cm of gel).
In order to absorb the gel, perform a light and prolonged massage on the painful area
and/or inflamed.
After each application, wash your hands thoroughly. With the exception of some strictly recommended cases, in the case of soft tissue trauma or abarticular rheumatism, the gel should not be used for more than 14 days, and in the case of arthritis pain, for a period longer than 28 days.
If after 5 days of treatment you do not notice an improvement in the symptoms or they worsen, you must see a doctor who will reevaluate the treatment.

Composition:
- The active substance is diclofenac sodium. One gram of gel contains diclofenac sodium 10 mg.
- The other components are: ethanol 96%, propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, Carbopol, trolamine, purified water.
