Description
Benfogamma is an over-the-counter medicine used to prevent vitamin B1 deficiencies in the body and treat their effects. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency can occur as a result of an incorrect diet low in vitamin B1, fasting and hemodialysis. Thiamine deficiency in the body can also occur during chronic alcoholism, because alcohol blocks its absorption. Each Benfogamma tablet contains a dose of 50 mg of benfotiamine (active substance). Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1, which positively affects its absorption level. Once benfotiamine is absorbed by the body, it is converted to thiamine. Prepared as round, sugar-coated tablets to be swallowed.
