These exercises aim to dilate the alveoli and increase airflow and can be performed in the comfort of your home. A spirometer is a device commonly used to prevent postoperative respiratory complications such as atelectasis, pneumonia, or lung disorders. It is also recommended for people who have had COVID-19.
The spirometer measures the amount of air exhaled using 3 colored balls placed in separate chambers. The scale shows 3 different values: 600, 900 and 1200 cm³. They allow you to visualize the volume of air inhaled per second, and their appearance encourages the patient to achieve the highest possible result. The spirometer can be used by adults and children.
